SINGAPORE – YY Circle, a Singapore-based on-demand staffing platform, is helping businesses in retail, logistics, warehousing and hospitality get ready for the busiest stretch of the year. From the 11.11 and Black Friday sales to Christmas, New Year events and Chinese New Year orders, the months between October and February put heavy pressure on manpower, and more employers are turning to temporary staffing Singapore solutions instead of adding permanent headcount they will not need in March.

The shortfall looks different in each sector. Retailers need sales associates and cashiers for weekend and sale-day crowds. Warehouses and logistics operators need extra hands for picking, packing and loading when e-commerce order volumes rise. Hotels and banquet venues need servers, stewarding crew and service staff for corporate year-end dinners and festive functions. Hiring through traditional channels can take weeks, while a peak-season gap often has to be filled in days.
“Most of our clients know their peak is coming. What they can’t predict is exactly how many people they will need on a given Saturday, or who will call in sick that morning,” said a spokesperson for YY Circle. “We built the app so a manager can post a shift and see it filled without going back to a recruitment agency every time the numbers change.”
How YY Circle Works for Employers
Employers post shifts in the YY Circle app with the role, location and hours, and are matched with workers from a pre-screened pool. Only about one in five applicants pass YY Circle’s screening. The company reports a 95% fill rate, with many positions filled within hours of posting.

The platform also includes a monitored attendance system, transparent pricing with no hidden fees, and payroll handled in-app, so supervisors are not left reconciling timesheets at month-end. For businesses with uneven demand, keeping a standby pool of familiar workers on the app helps cover last-minute absences during the busiest weeks.
Hotels, banquet venues and event organisers can find role-specific details on YY Circle’s hospitality page, which covers banquet servers, stewarding crew, concierge and service crew.
Flexible Shifts for Job Seekers
For students, homemakers, retirees and people between jobs, YY Circle also works as a part time job app Singapore residents can use to choose shifts around their studies, family or another job. Workers can browse roles across retail, F&B, hospitality and events, and the year-end period brings a larger number of warehouse part time jobs and retail shifts as businesses gear up for the holidays.

Earnings are credited to the worker’s YY Circle e-wallet and can be viewed in the app, in line with YY Circle’s prevailing payment terms.
Employers bringing on part-time staff for the season are also encouraged to review the Ministry of Manpower’s guidance on part-time employment, which sets out entitlements such as rest days, public holidays, overtime pay and leave for part-time employees covered by the Employment Act.
“Flexible work only works if it’s reliable on both sides,” the spokesperson added. “Employers need people who turn up and know what they’re doing. Workers need clear shift details and to know how they will be paid. That is what we focus on, whether it’s a warehouse, a shopping mall or a hotel ballroom.”
