Drawing on nearly five decades in fitness and personal experience, Torgl examines movement, discipline, digital distraction, and consistent daily routines.
New York City, NY, September 30, 2026 — Author and longtime fitness professional Danny Torgl has released The Chosen Hour: One Hour. Two Lives. Forever Changed., a book centered on the idea of setting aside one intentional hour each day for movement, reflection, and consistent personal routines.

Drawing on nearly five decades of experience in fitness, Torgl examines how repeated daily actions can influence behavior over time. The book also addresses increased screen use and sedentary routines, along with the role parents and other adults can play in demonstrating constructive habits to younger generations.
In The Chosen Hour: One Hour. Two Lives. Forever Changed., Torgl uses the phrase “hypnotic scrolls of time” to describe periods increasingly spent on digital devices rather than movement, conversation, and other offline activities.
Rather than presenting personal change as a complete reinvention, the book focuses on dedicating a manageable portion of each day to intentional activity. Topics include physical activity, follow-through, confidence, digital distraction, and the effects of comparing oneself with filtered or artificial images encountered online.
“The idea behind The Chosen Hour is to encourage people to look more closely at how they use a small but consistent part of each day,” Torgl said. “The book focuses on routine and intentional action rather than quick or guaranteed results.”
Torgl’s perspective is informed by his career in fitness. He owns OnPoint Gym in Lake Isabella, founded Danny’s Fitness4Kids, and was inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame in 2025.
His motivation for writing the book also draws from his personal experience with cancer. Torgl does not present physical fitness as protection against illness or as a medical treatment. Instead, he discusses how established routines and personal discipline influenced his approach to navigating an unexpected period in his life.
The book is written primarily for adults while also addressing parents and younger readers. It explores how behaviors involving movement, confidence, and follow-through can be demonstrated within families and observed across generations.
The Chosen Hour: One Hour. Two Lives. Forever Changed. also includes a Chosen Hour Pledge, structured as a 30-day commitment to setting aside one daily hour, along with personal letters addressing adults, parents, and young people navigating issues related to habits, appearance, identity, and digital comparison.
Through the book, Torgl presents the Chosen Hour as a framework for examining how people use their time and how repeated daily actions can support more consistent routines.
